About the Event
It's not easy to ask for what we need or to get our needs met, especially in a culture where we are told to be quiet, not to be a bother or where we have been conditioned to be people pleasers and sacrifice ourselves for the collective or the greater good.
The first step is to be able to recognise for ourselves what we need. Unless we have clarity on our own needs, we cannot express our needs or ask for appropriate support.
This outdoor workshop will help us identify our needs using the Needs cards developed by Max St John in his work on conflict. Then using a series of prompts, we'll explore how it is for us to express our needs and what might stop us getting our needs met. This work is based on Non Violent Communication.
The process is a mix of personal reflection and writing…
